Ultimate 25x150 column – Recommended conditions

Ultimate 25x150 column – Recommended conditions

Temperature & flow rate
We recommend the use of a column oven installed at the mass spectrometer source for the Ultimate 25x150 column. Operation without a column oven may result in fluctuating operating temperatures and higher back pressures at optimal flow rates, generating inconsistent sample separation.

For typical operation we recommend a flow rate between 0.4 to 1.5 µL/min with the column oven set between 40-60°C. The maximum operating temperature is 60°C. Flow rates can be increased or decreased to suit particular applications.

Maximum pressure
Aurora Series columns and nanoZero® fitting can both handle pressures can withstand pressures >1700 bar.

Expected back pressure
The below graph depicts the expected backpressure of an Ultimate 25x150 column, for a given flow rate at both room temperature and 50°C. The buffer composition is 0.1% formic acid in water.
