This guide walks you through setting up, fitting, and installing your Aurora Series columns with your UHPLC system.
Setup of UHPLC Systems
Aurora Series columns may be used in either:
One-column mode (direct injection)
With a trapping column
If using Aurora Series column in direct injection mode:
Please refer to manufacturer's guidelines for operating your UHPLC in a one column mode.
If using Aurora Series column with a trapping column:
NanoShield™ C18 traps are designed to maximise peptide retention and proteome coverage. Unlike traditional trap columns, NanoShield™ retains hydrophilic peptides, such as, early-eluting post-translationally modified peptides (e.g., phosphopeptides and glycopeptides) that are often lost during sample loading. Testing showed less than a 1% reduction in protein identifications and only a 1–3% reduction in precursor identifications compared with direct injection, when evaluated against a comparable trap column. For more information, please refer to the NanoShield™ Application Note.
Safety Note: Handling fused-silica or glass tubing and tips can cause serious personal injury. Always wear:
Safety goggles (meeting AS/NZS 1336 standards or equivalent).
Puncture- and chemical-resistant gloves should be worn at all times.
