Recommended conditions for 15cm Aurora Elite column

Recommended conditions for 15cm Aurora Elite column

Temperature & flow rate
We recommend the use of a column oven installed at the mass spectrometer source for the 15cm Aurora Elite column. Operation without a column oven may result in fluctuating operating temperatures and higher back pressures at optimal flow rates, generating inconsistent sample separation.

For typical operation recommend a flow rate around 400 nl/min with the column oven set to 40-60°C. This will ensure UHPLC back pressures of around 400-500 bar. The maximum operating temperature is 60°C. Flow rates can be increased or decreased to suit particular applications.

Maximum pressure
Aurora Series columns can withstand pressures >1700 bar (Gen3) and >1200bar (Gen2).

Example gradient
Refer to this Help Centre article for an example gradient.

Expected back pressure
Refer to this Help Centre article for the expected backpressure of a 15cm Aurora Elite column, for a given flow rate at both room temperature and 40°C.
