Can I use Aurora Series columns with a trapping column?

Aurora Series columns may be used in a one column mode (direct injection) or paired with a trapping column.

The NanoShield™ C18 traps from IonOpticks are designed to maximise peptide retention and proteome coverage. Unlike traditional trap columns, NanoShield™ retains hydrophilic peptides, such as, early-eluting post-translationally modified peptides (e.g., phosphopeptides and glycopeptides) that are often lost during sample loading.  Testing showed less than a 1% reduction in protein identifications and only a 1–3% reduction in precursor identifications compared with direct injection, when evaluated against a comparable trap column.
