Step 1: setup of UHPLC systems

Gen3 Aurora Series columns may be used in a one column mode (direct injection) or paired with a trapping column.

If using Aurora Series column in direct injection mode:
Please refer to manufacturer's guidelines for operating your UHPLC in a one column mode.

If using Aurora Series column with a trapping column:
We have tested a range of commercially available trap columns for use with our Gen3 Aurora Series columns and have identified the PepMap™ Neo 5 µm C18 300 µm X 5 mm Trap Cartridge as the most compatible. We still get great results and only lose ~5-8% of protein IDs with the inclusion of a trap. In order to achieve the best results, it is absolutely necessary to load and equilibrate the column with 0% ACN. Please keep this in mind if you wish to use the PepMap column with an Aurora column.

Handling of fused-silica or glass tubing and tips can result in serious personal injury, including eye and skin injury. Use safety goggles meeting AS/NZS 1336 requirements or equivalent. Puncture and chemical-resistant gloves should also be worn at all times.

Step 2: fitting the column to your UHPLC system
