Difference between Gen2 and Gen3 Aurora Series columns

Difference between Gen2 and Gen3 Aurora Series columns

Delivering unrivalled coverage, throughput, sensitivity and reproducibility, Gen3 Aurora Series columns embody all of the strengths of previous generations, augmented by three years of intense research, development and industry collaboration.

Throughout the development of the Gen3 Aurora Series, we’ve included a range of improvements to minimise experiment disruption and increase performance:

New and improved nanoZero® fittings

With enhanced robustness and reliability, the Gen3 nanoZero® fitting holds over 1700bar and eliminates all pre-column dead volume.

Improved emitter design

The manufacturing technique used to generate the Gen3 emitter has been refined over many years to allow us to consistently produce a high performing emitter with excellent sensitivity and stable spray over hundreds of injections. The most significant improvement to the emitter is the improved consistency of performance across different columns and production batches.

New stationary phase

Our new C18 stationary phase has better retention of peptides. Users should notice that more peptides are bound to the column during the loading sequence and should observe better identifications with low sample loads on the column. The new stationary phase is also more compatible with a range of commercial trap columns.

Extended column life

A key enhancement of Gen3 has been increased longevity and consistency, while maintaining the unrivalled sensitivity, throughput and depth of discovery synonymous with previous generations.
